Nipple (2017)

Documentation: Yoli

Nipple is a sculpture made of mdf and latex paint that looks at the body, the boob, the breast, the tittie, the teta as a site of subversive futurist production, architecture, and technology. It re-assembles the body into a vehicle that can transport lifeforms to other dimensions and temporal realities, drawing from mainstream representations of the UFO. The technology of re-assembling dismembered bodied is a reflection and re-intrepetation of Coyolxauhqui’s story, a Nahua teotl/diosa of the moon and milky way who was dismembered in a foundational myth for certain Nahua peoples including the Mexica.

Nipple honors the violence of dismemberment and reflects on reassembly as a site of generative possibility. It was show cased in the installation Shapeshifted.
