About El Cuerpo Presente Journey (Online)

El Cuerpo Presente Journey is a 4 Session Online Circle/Course  and Eco-Somatic practice to attune our senses and bodies to the (Teachers of the) Land and listen to their imprint within each of us. El Cuerpo Presente refers to the connection between our body, our presence, and the Teachers of La Tierra rooted in “Mexican Curanderismo” traditions.

Through play, somatic exercises, story-telling, meditation, platicas, herbalism, land-based medicine, and other embodied practices we re-animate our connection to the Land, our Other-Than-Human Family, and ourselves.

These gatherings center land, body, and being; and honor our play as embodied land-based medicine.

Curriculum

Week 1: Introduction To "El Cuerpo Presente" Roots in Curanderismo; "Be Here" - Teachings of the Mountains

Week 2: "Be Alive" - Teachings of the Flowers

Week 3: "I am & We are" - Teachings of the Water

Week 4: Closing Session, Weaving The Medicine Into Our Lives

• Building relationships with the Land

• Somatic and sonic exercises

• Play, performance, and persona exercises for personal exploration

• Connecting to intuition and remembering our ancestral "dones"/gifts

Who Is This For

“El Cuerpo Presente” is a space that is open to all. This course is well suited for those who are interested in decolonizing our senses. This is a play-based and creative expression forward space; it is well suited for those who are ok with feeling silly and diving into the unknown. If you feel like any of the mentioned topics are a brave space for you to step into; this space is for you too.
