Pull Me Back In (2017)
Pull Me Back In was a play and interactive performance art piece co-created by Yoli, Avey Menard, Nico Orozco-Valdivia and Thaddeus Pedisich. The surrealist play and ritual follows the movement of souls from death to their rebirth. On this journey through the birth portal of death into life, they meet Death who guides the souls towards the Dark River Mother and Grandmother who anoints and prepares the souls for new life with their ashy waters.
In this play, Yoli performed as a soul moving through death to rebirth and as the Dark River Mother and Grandmother. Along with performing, Yoli co-wrote, co-directed, and co-choreographed the piece.
